You can contact all of the surgeries at Abbey Medical Group on: 01904 411139. This central number can be used to book an appointment at any of our surgeries. We now have a new automated telephone system called Patient Partner, which allows you to book, change or cancel your appointments using your touch tone telephone. You do not have to register to use this service but we do need a valid telephone number (landline or mobile) in your clinical records so the system can recognise you. To use the automated system you will need to choose option 2.
You can use the automated system 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. If however you wish to still speak to a receptionist then chose opt 3
In January 2011 we introduced a new system where patients can communicate none urgent and none clinical issues with the surgery using our texting service. You can text from your mobile phone to 0780 000 9668. We will respond to these texts within 24 hours Monday to Friday and usually quicker than that. This will mean you do not have to call in or telephone the surgery.
You can call to book appointments from 0830hrs - 1800hrs and you will find that the telephones are quieter between 1100hrs - 1400hrs. Telephones are very busy first thing in the morning so try and avoid ringing at this time unless it is urgent.
When you call please have the following information ready:
- Name and Date of Birth
- Do you want an appointment with a specific doctor/nurse?
- Which surgery would you prefer?
- What day and time would you prefer?
- A brief summary of your problem so the staff can better deal with your call.
We cannot always offer the surgery or clinician of your choice due to availability. We will however do our best to accommodate you.
Please be patient with the telephones, as we will answer as soon as we can and remember that the receptionist is only carrying out the instructions of the doctors.
