Abbey Medical Group are a large medical practice based in York, providing healthcare services to eleven and a half thousand patients, mainly in the Tang Hall, Heworth and Huntington areas of the city.

Carol Whittaker

Carol Whittaker has worked at Abbey Medical Group since November 1990.

Carol works at the Victoria Way site as Surgery Supervisor/Recall Clerk.

Mia Porteous

Mia Porteous is the Clinical Support Assistant and she joined Abbey Medical Group in June 2005 after working previously for 2 years at another York practice.

Mia began as a full time receptionist but has recently take on her new role, which is ever expanding as the practice develops.

Susan Bannister

Sue Bannister is one of the Secretaries at Abbey Medical Group.  She originally started work for Tang Hall Lane Surgery, until it merged with Park View Surgery and became Abbey Medical. In total Sue has worked for Abbey Medical Group for 7 years. 

Sue has a dog that needs lots of exercise, so she is always out walking. Sue also really enjoys swimming.

John Coleson

Finance Controller

John Coleson is an independant Accounting Services Advisor and has practiced in and around York since 1996.

John has worked with Abbey Medical since 2004.

Marcia Greenaway

Marcia Greenaway has worked as part of our team for 19 years. Prior to the merger that formed Abbey Medical Group, Marcia was employed as a part time receptionist and secretary at Park View Surgery.

Marcia now works full time as a secretary at the Victoria Way Surgery dealing with day-to-day hospital referrals, medicals to Australia and New Zealand and Insurance Reports.

Margaret Ward

Margaret Ward is responsible for the practice accounts and recall system. Margaret works at the Victoria Way surgery and has an important role in balancing all of the books.
